What is USG Lower Abdomen?

The ultrasonography(USG) in the abdominal area is a process that uses high-frequency sound waves that scan the internal organs in the body, including the women's pelvic cavity, lower abdomen reproductive system, and the pregnant fetus.

It is frequently used to diagnose pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, or an infection.

USG is the safest option since it doesn't use the ionizing radiation used in other tests and provides clear images of soft tissues that don't appear well on x-rays. However,

before the test, it's strongly recommended to drink eight glasses of fluids or other clear fluid and fill the bladder filled. This will make sure that the pelvic and abdominal cavity organs are visible when examining the USG.
