USG Bps (Obstetric )

A biophysical profile of the fetus is an important prenatal test that is used to determine the baby's health. The test is a combination of monitoring the fetal heart rate (nonstress test) and fetal ultrasound. Both tests assess a baby's heart rate and breathing patterns, as well as movement, muscle tone, and amniotic fluid.

The biophysical profile (BPP) test is a way to determine your infant's condition (fetus) throughout pregnancy. A BPP test could consist of a non-stress test that includes electronic monitoring of your fetus's heartbeat and an ultrasound scan of the fetus. The BPP analyzes the heart rate of your baby's and muscle tone, movements breathing, as well as levels of amniotic fluid around your baby.

A BPP is usually performed during the final third trimester of pregnancy. If there is a possibility that your baby is susceptible to issues in your pregnancies ( high-risk pregnancy), A BPP could be performed by 32-34 weeks or earlier. Certain women at risk could undergo the BPP test each week or every week twice in the final trimester.
