Results of RA Factor Blood Test

A positive rheumatoid factors test indicates that a significant amount of rheumatoid factors was found inside your blood.

A higher amount of rheumatoid-related elements present in a person's blood is linked to many autoimmune disorders, especially rheumatoid joint. However, other diseases and conditions can also increase the levels of rheumatoid factors. This includes:

  • Cancer

  • Chronic infections

  • Inflammatory lung diseases, such as sarcoidosis

  • A disorder of connective tissue called mixed connective tissue

  • Sjogren's syndrome

  • Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

A few healthy people, specifically those older, maybe positive on Rheumatoid Factor tests, but it's unclear why. However, certain people with Rheumatoid arthritis may have less rheumatoid factor within their blood.
