Physiotherapy is recognized as one of the most effective remedies to treat urinary incontinence in women. Non-invasive and strengthening, it can be combined with other therapies, its results last over time and it has a moderate to low cost. Physiotherapy treatment in urinary incontinence aims to improve the strength and coordination of the periurethral and pelvic floor muscles.

WORK OF THE PHYSIOTHERAPIST IN DWARKA FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE

  1. Diagnose: identify the problem of urinary incontinence and its possible causes (recent activities, habits, postures) and assess the current state of the muscles.

  2. Inform: Enlighten the patient about the pathology, its causes and the remedies for female urinary incontinence.

  3. Train: Plan exercises for urine loss adapted to each patient, teach and help them perform them, and monitor them over time.

  4. Educate: Inculcate good habits in the patient, such as muscle control techniques, which help in the physiotherapy treatment for female urinary incontinence.

TYPES OF PHYSIOTHERAPEUTIC TREATMENTS FOR URINARY INCONTINENCE

  • Muscle training: This type of training improves urethral support for stress incontinence in women.

  • Strengthen the bladder: By strengthening this muscle in our body, we will reduce the overactivity of the bladder itself.

  • Learn to locate the muscles that are going to be exercised: This will help you to perform better exercises and not waste time with exercises for urinary incontinence that really do not give results.

PHYSIOTHERAPY TECHNIQUES AND URINARY INCONTINENCE.

Kegel exercises

This type of female urinary incontinence treatment is responsible for strengthening the pelvic floor. Basically, these types of exercises consist of performing the precise contraction of the pelvic floor that is between the pubis and the coccyx, without using the abdominal muscles or the glutes. It is recommended to perform them three times a day and in different positions.

Biofeedback

Considered a technique to exercise the pelvic muscles with the use of a tampon-shaped sensor located in the bladder or rectum.

Vaginal cone technique for urinary incontinence

It allows learning to contract the pelvic floor muscles by retaining a small cone in the bladder. It very effectively strengthens the muscles in a few weeks.

Electrostimulation for urine loss

It uses the same electrode as Biofeedback but with a different switch, which allows electronic strengthening of muscle groups. It can be high frequency or low intensity, according to the patient's tolerance.

RESULTS OF URINARY INCONTINENCE AND PHYSIOTHERAPY

  • Strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles.

  • Decreased bladder activity
